Im Working On It

Yeah, yeah. I know, it's been a while... Well, Im working on a minor overhaul on the blog before I start posting again. It may take a while as a lot of changes are happening in my life at the moment but I'll try my best, I'm also thinking of adding a new poster just so I can have some help getting things out on time. Until then, though...

I Love Guillermo Del Toro

So this past weekend I got to see Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. I thought the first Hellboy was okay.. not great, not even really good, just okay. I hear Guillermo didn't get a lot of creative freedom with the first one but after Pan's Labyrinth they let him have it all for HB2. It shows... Guillermo is a genius when it comes to he realm of the fantastical. His creature designs are both frightening and beautiful and the vast wolds he creates are nothing short of breathtaking. Even the troll market was beautiful in it's own way. The person I was with said it reminded her of Harry Potter. My reply; 'good'. I'm truly excited to see what he does with The Hobbit. I know I'm forgetting something.... oh yeah! The plot was MUCH better than the first movie's and the way everyone interacted with each other felt a lot more smooth and natural. I also have to mention how much I adore Doug Jones. He's such a talented man and I find it funny when people ask me who he is. "You remember the fawn and the pale man from Pan's Labyrinth.. OH! and the Silver Surfer... that's him!" *insert big smile at the look of awe on our hypothetical person* So yeah, Hellboy 2 = Good. I think I may have enjoyed it better than Iron Man but it may be that they are very different movies... you decide.

I'll review wanted on Thursday just so I have something to post then. Sorry this one was late.. my bad. Had to work. -Dustyn

Im Sorry Guys

It's been a really crazy week. Work transferred me (sucks), my roommate moved out with no warning nor reason (sucks more) so I've been left with an apartment all to myself that there's no way in hell I can pay for and I have to find a roommate in like.. 5 days. NOT GOOD.

On the flip side I went clubbing Wednesday (to get my mind off things.. it worked for a little while) and got to go to the drive-in on Friday for your monday review (a two-fer! Hellboy 2 and Wanted) so you can expect those... I dunno what I'm doing for the week but I guarentee Monday and Friday posts.Let's hope for The Mummy review next week.. and wish me luck in the whole apartment situation.

Peace, Love, and Magazines. -Dustyn

It's One Less Share

It's Monday and time for my review of The Dark Knight and the only fair way to do this is to break the movie down into two parts: Performances and Plot.

We'll start with the plot. Batman (Bruce Wayne) teams up with Harvy Dent and the soon to be Comissioner Gordon to bring the last major crime syndicate in Gotham down. Everything seems to be going right until the arrival of a new kind of lawbreaker shows up; The Joker. The atmosphere (to me) is really different than that of the first film. Some of the action seems a little more far fetched but can be justified in some form or another. My biggest gripe is about the lack of a batcave and Wayne Manor. Which, I feel, was part of the change in atmosphere. I understand the manor was blown up in the last film but the batcave wasn't and this new, temporary batcave was too high-tech for my liking. The story is fairly strong but there were places where I had tilt my head and go "..hmm." It's a long movie but it holds your interest enough to not feel so. There was a really epic twist in one of the action sequences that was truly amazing. I apologize for being vague but I really don't want to spoil anything but you will know what I'm talking about when you see it, if you haven't already.

Now onto what EVERYONE is talking about, and rightfully so; the performances. Lets go ahead and get this out of the way: Christian Bale as Batman = meh... I really enjoyed him in the first film but this time around i wasn't feeling the love so much. Gary Oldman is, of course, genious in everything he does and Gordon is no different. His character goes from nerd fan service in Begins to beloved character of his own in Dark Knight. The character of Rachel to me is truly unecessary but as she is here I must mention her... I love Maggie Gyllenhaal and I'm not the biggest fan of Katie Holms. And I don't think Katie made a better Rachel, but in the first movie, the character herself was more developed and pronounced. In TDK she's almost forgotten... Onward! Aaron Eckhart is amazing as Harvy Dent/Two-Face and I fear that his performance will be underappreciated because of Heath Ledger's. Not that i think Ledger doesn't deserve all the glory, as this is HIS movie but Eckhart put his all into this and i feel bad that he won't get the prise he deserves.

Every performance in this movie is great, but the hot topic lately has been Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker. If I had to chose one word to describe it, I would shoot the person making the request because there is no one word. Perfection is an understatement. The Joker is a terrifying person(?).He's genuinely funny but when you realize what he just made you laugh at, it makes you quiver. Every time you see or hear The Joker all of your attention is on him.. trying to figure out what he's thinking or what he'll do next. He's always 4 steps ahead but it's not quite clear whether he planned it that way or not. You forget this is a character in a movie and that this is a person playing a part because Heath WAS The Joker. He took this character to a whole new level of psychoticly sane. You hang on every word out of his mouth...

I cannot say enough good about the perfomances in this movie so I'll end here and see you all tomorrow.

P.S. Heath, if you're reading my blog.. We will so miss you. Also, if there are any typos, my bad, I'm kind of drugged up at the moment and don't want to edit....

Drugs Are Bad

Now let's just get this out of the way.. I don't like rap. Nor do I like really old things. But put them together and you get this.

The sync on this is AMAZING. I find myself craving this video like a drug every month or so. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

AIR Is Good.. Damn That Lying Spongebob!

So today's nerdy post is about Adobe AIR® (I put the trademark in case they wasnt to close my blog like they did FreshAIRApps) but basically it is a cross-platform runtime that lets you run web applications on your desktop.. think widgets, only epic.I am currently in love with it. Why? I'll tell you why! I now have hulu, Pandora, Twitter, and the best RSS aggrigattor in my humble opinion running on my desktop.. whenever I want it to.. without a browser!

Look!

Click it for a bigger view, but thats me using twhirl (Twutter app), Snackr (the RSS agrigator), and Pandora. No, I dont have a task bar because I use rocketdock.. which I also love.

So I really suggest you try AIR, and go to FreshAIRApps (soon to be refreshingapps.com) from the link above and check out the showcase. Also there are development tools for the real techie types.

I'm Trying Something New

Now, I know I said I was going to talk about music on Tuesdays but, frankly, I don't like writing about music, and it's not like I'm talking about anything new or unusual. So I'm going to talk about something I do like to talk about (talk.. about): Tea!

That's right, tea. Since I'va started working again I've been given the opportunity to buy tea again. It's not your average, run-of-the-mill, store bought tea thath everyone is used to. It's real, whole-leaf, fresh, tea kettle and all tea. And I've decided that each week on Tuesday I'm going to recommend a flavor to you!

First off, lets talk about where I get my tea.

Adagio is definitely the best place for teas, and if you're just starting out, I highly recommend trying the flavored tea starter kit, as the flavors included are quite delicious. I, myself, enjoy tea sweetened, but it is up to you. It is definitely much healthier unsweetened, but I'm a real American (sadly).

So, on to today's flavor, and we'll start with something basic: Vanilla.

Hot or cold, sweetened or no, Vanilla is by far my favorite flavored tea ever. It's so smooth and just the smell of it makes me feel better. I look forward to buying a pound of it in the near future as I use it alot. either by itself, or to blend.

So start drinking REAL tea people. I promise you wont regret it!

It Was Better Than I Expected

Sadly, this weekend I was unable to see Hellboy 2. So, as I promised, I'm reviewing last weeks big release; Hancock.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hancock. After trudging through the first hour, the ending, though predictable,  was rather refreshing. The movie definitely had it's flaws though. It tried way to hard to make us hate Hancock in the beginning... WAY too hard and the music was really quite annoying. I also thought Will was miscast. Don't get me wrong, I think Will Smith is a great actor, I just don't think this role was for him

On the flip side, the movie was actually funny. I lol'd 5 times, and chuckled quite a bit. It should come as no surprise that it was Jason Bateman that made me laugh four out of those five times, simply because he is brilliant. Not to mention Miss Charlize Theron is eight shades of gorgeous. I also liked the mythology behind the super powers, which made an odd sort of sense.

I'm not really sure I'd recommend it to anyone, at least not while WALL-E is still in theatres, but it's worth a view if you have the time/money, especially if it's paired up with another movie at the drive-in (which was WALL-E =D).

It Is Time

The moment you've all been waiting for; My WALL-E review!

First and foremost, WALL-E is probably the sweetest love story I have ever seen. There's something oddly romantic about two beings in love that can only say each others names. Speaking of speaking! This movie has VERY little dialogue, and it really works for the film. I don't know how PIXAR does it, but you really feel for these characters even though they say nothing. Another major thing I noticed about WALL-E is how beautiful it is. When we see space for the first time I couldn't stop looking around, and even the barren, deserted, trash-covered Earth has this grand beauty to it. I only have a few gripes and one isnt even really relavent.. that is sometimes you feel the movie being cartoony and hokey, but it is a kids movie after all so it is forgiven. It just took me out of the moment. The other is the lack of dialogue. The movie does a great job of telling it's story without words, and maybe it's because no one is really used to silent movies anymore, but on a couple of occasions I caught myself longing for someone to say something. Other than that, the movie was above and beyond what I expected and I am thoroughly excited to see how it fares in the overall summer box office.

Now for future reviews! On Monday I would LIKE to have a review of Hellboy 2 but, it isn't playing at MY theatre this weekend and chances are I wont be able to take a trip to see it elsewhere SO if that doesnt happen I'll more than likely do Hancock (which is getting VERY mixed reviews). And of course, you can expect Dark Knight to be reviewed on the 21st, if not sooner from excitement...

My Head Is Killing Me

  • My head really hurts.. and I think it's because Im hungry.
  • I really need to update the blog... I have't had much time because...
  • I started my new job... It blows.
  • I have my review for WALL-E... 2 weeks late and I have random Friday's post ready but it'll have to wait until I eat and lose this headache. Sorry.

This Is Surprising

I was doing a roundup of the summer movies since we're in the weeks of the big 3 releases (WALL-E, Hancock, and Dark Knight) and I was surprised by what I've seen so far, and thought it merited a post. Apparently, graduating and not having TV (the Internet is good enough for me) has skewed my idea of pop-culture. When I think of the most anticipated movie of the summer I immediately think of one of the big 3, wouldn't you think so? Turns out, the most anticipated movie of the summer is NOT Dark Knight, it's Hellboy 2. Pan's Labyrinth has done wonders for Guillermo's career and I'm both saddened and overjoyed that HB2 is the most anticipated movie.
What also came as a surprise to me is Hancock is getting HORRIBLE reviews... it only received a 33% on RottenTomatoes.com. Will Smith... Jason Bateman!.. what went wrong?! I'm anxious to see whether this will be the movie to break Will's winning streak.
What didn't come as a surprise is WALL-E getting epic reviews and Dark Knight doing the same. I've also seen a review for Hellboy 2 that gives it a 10/10 but I hold it with a grain of salt because I'm not sure the core material for Hellboy can merit a perfect score but I don't doubt Guillermo's ability so, we shall see.

It's Been A Crazy Week

So yesterday I was supposed to do a post on tech news and today, a review of WALL-E. This week has been so crazy that my posts thus far have been somewhat lackluster and yesterday's post went missing altogether. I still plan to have the WALL-E review up some time today though chances are it will be late late because I have a few plans today and I have to get ready for a trip this weekend. Sorry about the wait and the terrible writing.. I promise it will get better soon! I do promise Friday's will be up on time. Hope to see you later!

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing

We've finally come to our first music Tuesday, and I thought I'd start with my favorite band ever;

Garbage

You might get a nostalgic twinge when you hear these guys nowadays since their best songs were done in the late 90's but believe it or not they are still going pretty strong. Where to start..? Oh yes, well, their first album came out in 1995 (a good year... *twinge*) and was probably the most prominent alternative rock album of the decade (second only to Alanis Morrissette's Jagged Little Pill). With singles like 'Only Happy When It Rains', Milk', and 'Queer' it's no surprise the album reached.. alright alright, no more details.

Why do I love Garbage? Well their songs are amazing. From the 60's Bubblegum sound of "Cherry Lips"to the hardcore sex scenes in "Hammering In My Head" the range they cover is epic and all of it is great. They do what they want, even if they know they'll lose some fans. beautifulgarbage was definitely a change from their first two super successful albums but it's what they wanted, and I admire that... not to mention, I still loved that CD. They have unique artistic videos ("The World Is Not Enough" is the video posted, and It's a bonafide bond song!). They're political! I know, I'm so not the type to be political but I love what they say when they say it.

If you liked Garbage in the 90's, I recommend you revisit them. Pick up "Bleed Like Me" or the recent compilation "Absolute Garbage" and if you STILL love them, as I do, you might like what I say next. It's rumored that they are working on a NEW album to release this year. It's not so much a rumor as the band members are really into the idea, but I say rumor just in case it doesn't happen. Whatever happens, they will always remain my #1 band.

I Fail

I wanted to review WALL-E for you today. I even had it written down on the weekly planner but it fell through. I didn't get a chance to see it and I tried like a bitch, too. I had a couple of fallback options like reviewing the best movie of last summer (Stardust) or another one of this summers big releases (Indy 4) but I want to stick with making this weeks movie WALL-E. SO! On Thursday, my self-proclaimed entertainment day, I don't have anything planned yet so I wanted to try again. By Thursday I should have seen WALL-E and had time to mull it over. I apologize if you were anticipating my movie review today, and I'm sorry for both of us that I didn't get to see WALL-E. Regardless, it will be here Thursday.

P.S. Stardust is amazing and Indy 4 is disappointing.

I have A Plan

So, after a few minutes of thinking and about an hour of thought organization, I have come up with a lose guideline as to how I'm going to continue running this blog and how I will run a future website. I want to cover a lot of ground and that's rather difficult for one person to do, but I think this plan will work. First of all.. I'm setting alarms to remind me to research my posts (alarms on my phone and if worse comes to worse I'll lock down my computer... I WILL do this). And as Im covering a lot of different areas in my posts I thought I'd break it down by day.

Monday - I set this day side for movies. Reviews or recommendations, this day is all about movies. I want to try and see the movies opening every week, since I pretty much do anyways, and review them here, but as sometimes funds are short or I just can't get out, I will have recommendations and reviews of classics and the like. Also, movie news. Since I cover more ground in movies than any other field, this day will probably be the most in-depth.

Tuesday - Music. Not new music either, I never hear about the new albums each week so I never know whats going on, BUT I have my own recommendations and I know how to find new and interesting music, and this day is set aside just for that. Most likely the day I'll forget to post...

Wednesday - This is the day of tech news! I'm always watching webcasts and listening to shows about tech news and Wednesday will be my day to give my opinion on what's going on in the world of nerdgasmic goodness. Video games not withholding.

Thursday - Entertainment day... I know that sounds kind of vague and really off topic. Here's what I mean; Hollywood news.. what the celebs are up too... or those I deem worthy of speaking about. I may be a huge geek but I hang with the mainstream.. you know, faceless bastards, so this is my watercooler. This may actually change to a TV section but I'll see how it goes.

Friday - The weekend is here.. and I know you don't want to read. So, this is the day of videos and pictures. Random things that is.. virals I love, pics that make me laugh. I mean random. This day will have no rhyme nor reason to it.. pure fun. I already love it.

Now, I know this doesnt sound like a new or unique idea, but It's what I want to do... and I really hope some readers hop on eventually. I'm sure one day, when I really figure out what it is I want to do, it will be different.. It will be MY page. ttfn, my friends.

It's A Good Summer For Movies

And here's what I think(hope) the top 10 movies of the summer will be:

10) Hellboy 2: The Golden Army - Guillermo Del Toro gets more freedom! Can't wait to see what he does with it.
9) Pineapple Express - I think it's going to be the big comedy this summer. My faith in Seth Rogen continues to grow, he's done no wrong thus far. Not to mention, James Franco; fucking gorgeous.
8) Wanted - Morgan Freeman. 'Nuff said. Oh, you want more? Angelina Jolie... in another action movie. More? Umm... James McAvoy is pretty cute...
7) Kung Fu Panda - It's a perky family movie and kids are a good way to make money in the box office. I heard it was really cute.. maybe it'll pick up.
6) The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian - I think the brouhaha from the first movie will bring a little more to this one. Not to mention I need Tilda on this list somewhere.

WOOO! The Big 5! I'm excited...

5) Hancock

Will Smith can do no wrong. He is the only true A-list actor. 'Why?' you ask. Well he is the only actor whose name on a movie can guarantee $100 million on opening weekend. Seriously, ask yourself if there has ever been a bad Will Smith movie. Enough about Will, though, the movie looks genuinely funny and charming, and I can't imagine it doing bad, even with the lackluster PR campaign.

4) Star Wars: The Clone Wars

To be honest, I didn't put this on my list for me... because I'm not excited for it at all, but I think it will succeed because nerds can fund a movie like this. Examples, every other Star Wars movie, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter. We nerds love our movies. Not only is it a nerd movie, it's also going to be big with the kids which is another big audience. So, there you have it... I feel I should switch it with Hancock but I don't wanna move them so...

3) Iron Man

I'll admit this one is kind of a cheap shot. I have already seen it and I know it's doing really well at the box office, but I still would have put it in my top 5 regardless, I have a soft spot for super hero movies. For those of you who don't know, this movie is fucking epic, go see it last month, dumbfuck.

2) Dark Knight
1) WALL-E

These two were definitely the most difficult to place, but I think this is it. Dark Knight is the movie I am most excited for for MANY reasons. First and foremost is that I think it will be the best shot, acted, and all around best movie of the summer. It will get a lot of Heath Ledger sympathizers, and I agree, he will be greatly missed, but I don't want this movie to be big for that reason alone. I truly believe it will be the greatest super hero movie to date. But here's why I think WALL-E will be top dog: PIXAR. Disney/Pixar have never failed to place #1 in the BO and I doubt highly that WALL-E will break the tradition. It's a kids movie that adults will love too and movies made for the kids that adults wont mind sitting through tend to do really well. Not that I think kids don't want to see Batman it's just the much younger ones that wont understand the depth of Batman will go see WALL-E. Though, If I am wrong, I really won't mind. In fact, I would be overjoyed. Dark Knight ftw!

Yahoo Is Fucked

So Yahoo! has been in the tech news radar for quite a while (yet recently the flame was rekindled by the Google vs. Microsoft purchasey.. thing), and it's not good news and so it has piqued my interest to figure out why. So apparently Yahoo! has lost it's way and from what I read it's because of the newest CEO, Terry Semel, who decided to focus more on money and less on it's awesome aps. I remember when Yahoo! used to be a household name.. remember? It even used to have those really funny commercials! Here is how Yahoo! lost it's way, it makes a good read. The main reason I posted this was to link to this amazing site which generates letters of resignation made as a joke because all of the Yahoo! execs are leaving. For the best in tech news, head to webbalert.com. I apologize for the jibbersih, I'm a little tipsy... Adios, my friends.

I Want A Real Website

I've been browsing around the interwebs today, just looking for open domain names, different site builders (because, as much as I love to code by hand, I'm not doing a whole site), and yadda yadda yadda. I found some really great combinations and it's relatively cheap to do what I'd like.. relatively cheap but still too expensive for me at the moment.
I really do want a real site. I also really want to start really posting real stories with my own twist in stead of just posting random happenings. I want to get my journalism on! Research, draft, edit, post! I'd also like to do a video with my roommate of the weekly newseses, her being entertainment and myself being technology. I think it would be a super fun project and I am working on putting it into motion.
I'm really tired of having these long ass site names and cheap layouts. My only issue would be that I need a graphic designer that can make pictures for the layout.. I'm thinking of a friend i know who does that professionally but It'll be hard convincing her. Well that's another nonsense/jibberish post. See you on the professional side!

It's A Sad Day

Dear reader(s?), It is indeed a sad day. Not two minutes ago I recieved a twitter from @jeffcannata that informed me of George Carlin's death. George was a great comedian, and a brilliant anti-establishment spokesman. He will be missed. Rest in peace, my man, rest in peace. -Dustyn

These Guys Rock

I was introduced to Lordi by Plisken of FFXI fame. I'm pretty sure the first time he played this song for me i nearly screamed with excitement. The chorus is so fucking epic it made me headbang.. ME! The videos are really spiffy, too. Me, being a horror movie buff, am so in love with them. I would die to see them in concert, as there concerts are horror themed as well. You should really check them out and watch the other videos, too. Very cool. -Dustyn

Best Buy Is Wrong

So, recently I've been spending a lot of time at hulu watching Arrested Development (funniest show ever) and Bring It On (best shot movie ever... that cameraman was genius) and there is this ad on there from Best Buy. It's this pretty blonde girl who opens with "Sure, drive-ins may be things of the past..." or something to that effect and goes on to advertise a projector. The first time i saw this ad I wanted to jump through my screen and beat that girl with her projector... Drive-Ins are SO still around, and are SO much fun, and SO much cheaper and better than your average theatre. I know of two near me and one I and my roommate are very loyal to. We go almost every weekend and they always have the big openers on Friday. I promise Drive-Ins are still around and making a comeback. For the most fun you've ever had, find a Drive-In near you and give it a shot. I promise you'll have fun.

You Need To Know What Pandora Is

I've been going on and on in posts about how amazing Pandora is and how you should try it. Well, here is my chance to explain what it is and WHY I love it. Pandora is a website that creates radio stations based on personal taste. I myself have 4 major stations I made from putting in artists I love (Evanescence, BT, Ayumi Hamasaki, Lori... no seriously Lordi). It spits out music from lesser known artists (as well as popular ones. Don't worry your head, mindless trolls) that are similar to those artists and 98% of the time you'll love what it gives you. Seriously, try it out. I made a playlist in iTunes of all the new songs I love that Pandora played for me. Check out my player profile here and sample all my bookmarked songs (click the little 'play' arrow to the left of the song). END! -Dustyn

Firefox 3 Wins

So today was Firefox 3's release (the official release, upgrade your betas, losers!) and I have to say I am enjoying the new interface. I don't notice much on the speed front but I never really had an issue with it. It took a while to get it though, the website was either down or lagging like a bitch all morning.. it was amazing. I have a fair few of tabs open at the moment and one has a big hulking flash ap running (Pandora) and everything is running quite smoothly. And i definitely love the new blue sheen on my bookmarks.. blue is the best color ever. I will definitely keep using Firefox 3 as my main browser but I do want to try Flock... just for fun. I've used Opera, Safari, IE (EWWWW), and something else i cant recall the name for at this time.. but nothing beats Firefox.. nothing. If The Mozilla Org. made an operating system I would so buy it.. in fact I hope they do.. give BOTH Apple and Microsoft a run for their money. SO! www.GetFirefox.com if you already havent! And that's today's post~! Check out my other blog, Gate of Tartarus, if you feel like wasting time. Though it's all about Final Fantasy XI so... you've been warned ^^. Later Gators -Dustyn

Movies Are Spiffy

So recently I have gotten back into my movie watching phase (for a while recently it's been reading/TV) and yesterday I watched Little Miss Sunshine which i know a lot of people loved but i just thought it was 'meh' though the ending was fun and heartwarming. BUT TODAY! Today I watched Be Kind Rewind. It started out kind of weird and slow but once it got going it was really charming. It had a nerdstalgic aura to it as well when they were "sweding" the movies that just appeals to any real movie lover... I mean, who hasn't wanted to remake and star in their favorite film?! Also the underlying dilemma and resolution to it were genuinely humbling. Later today I plan on watching the Disney Pocahontas for nostalgia and a good laugh.
NEW TOPIC! If anyone reads this.. truly, I would like to know! Follow me on twitter @ twitter.com/DustynDW or friend me up on MySpace (which i need to continue updating) @ myspace.com/DustynDragonwolf. SO!, that's all for now. I'll see you guy(s?) tomorrow! Peace~ -Dustyn

Twitter Is Fucking Awesome

So for those of you who don't know about Twitter.com, It is probably the most addictive, innovative, useless website ever conceived. Microblogging is the best term for it. You can post to it from the web and from mobile devices (a.k.a. Your cell phone.. durr). Basically you just post any and everything that you do. It's actually quite interesting to see what people are doing, getting a random text saying you're friend is going shopping is just.. strangely.. really really fun. And it's really addictive both posting and seeing what people are doing. I basically leave the window open and post as soon as i think of something even remotely cool to say. And I love getting texts with tweets (i dont like the word but thats what twitter calls em) from everyone i watch on revision3. Thats all for todays random rant! -Dustyn P.S. Fuck Potpourri!

Online Gaming Is Teh Win

I really don't know how to start this post. I wanted to say something along the lines of "Online gaming is no different than going out to hang with friends" to oppose people saying it's an addiction and that it hinders people's social lives. I consider it to be a major part of my social life. I play FFXI (Final Fantasy 11 for the not so game savvy readers) which is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, my character is a Black Mage named Dustyn (creative huh? ^^). I do want you to know I know some people do take it way too far and play way too often (*cough* Angina *cough*) but thats only a handful of people, and quite frankly, if they refuse to have a social life beyond MMORPGs, then let them stay socially inept. I don't see MMORPGs as being any different than the captian of the football team hanging out with his henchmen at the local whateverthehelltheydo. We (my online friends and myself) plan events, talk about life, and do nothing together all the time. What makes it any different because it's online? Just because I'm not face-to-face with someone doesnt mean I dont know them, in fact I've known some people on FFXI longer than I've known my best friend and roommate, Jessica. People wonder why I pay $14 a month for a video game, and i say it's just like paying $8 to go see a movie with your friend, or $10 for the cover charge at that club. I spend $14 a month and have a fucking adventure every night (that I'm not at the movies or the club >.>). Wow, there was NO rhyme nor reason to that article there... I'm too busy thinking about twitter. Awright, that's all for now folks. See you at the Temple of Pso'Xja. Peace bitches! -Dustyn

Finding A Job Is Hard

Okay, I left Wal-Mart on Feb. 16, and have been looking for a job since then (sans the random road trip to Florida). I've only been called once and it was from one of those 'you want me to work where..?' situations. Ive applied to at least 20 stores (retail, as thats the most of my experience and i wouldnt work well in restaurants). I have more than enough experience and I'm fucking amazing at my job, what the hell is wrong with these people. Also, I've seen more job scams searching the web than actual jobs.. A) Do people actually fall for these enough to justify posting the same scam 52 times on a search site? B) It's so totally obvious they're scamming people and why dont the search sites take them down?
Awright! Venting out of the way, welcome to my new blog! 'Pretty Sure...' is something I say alot when someone says something stupid, for example: Person - "I heard God was made of feathers." Me - "Pretty sure your a dumbass... yeah." So just take 'Pretty Sure...' andjust apply it to the name of each post! Fun! It's like a word puzzle no one is going to understand! Also this blog will just be a bunch of non sequitur jibberish so I'll understand if you don't read it, but just know you fail at life. Pretty sure I'm gone. -Dustyn
